Tour with „The Green Arrow”

Starting june 2017, “The Green Arrow”, a tram older than 100 years old, travels again. Every Sunday morning, starting 9 o’Clock, from Arad to Ghioroc (25 km), on the oldest electrified railway in Europe – and the 7th oldest in the world. Starting july 2017, the ones who guide the “Green Arrow Tour” are the Arad Free Tours’ volunteers.

The price of a ticket for “The Green Arrow” Tour is 20 lei (less than 5EUR/~5USD). It includes the trip with the Green Arrow from Arad to Ghioroc, the entrance at the Arad Transports Museum and the Vineyard and Wine Museum from Ghioroc and the return trip with a tram.

If you want to see how a century-old tram looks like, to feel how our grandparents traveled between Arad and the villages in the Arad-vineyard (Podgoria), if you want to see the old recovery station of the line Arad-Podgoria or to find out the history of wine in Arad County, all you have to do is visit the sageataverde.ro/en site and book a tour for “The Green Arrow Tour”. We’ll be waiting for you at the Maximilian (Kaufland Micălaca ) tram station in Arad, every sunday at 9 o’Clock!

Departures will take place every Sunday 09:00 AM from Maximilian station in Arad (Kaufland Micalaca). Tickest can (and must!) be booked on the sageataverde.ro site!

The “Green Arrow” Tour is organised by the Arad County Council, in a partnership with the Alternative Tourism Association, through the Arad Free Tours project.

Arad Free Tours wants to promote the town of Arad, along with its history and cultural heritage, wanting to offer the tourists a varied number of free, quality tours. We want to encourage local tourism and to become an innovative reference on the local non- profit service market. We would like to unite with all those who are interested in local tourism, at a public or private level, and to contribute to the relaunching of quality tourism in Romania.
